The festival was free and open to all, with some workshops requiring prior registration. Over 100 attendees participated, including 78% women and 15% children and teenagers.
The event featured a Clothing and Toy Exchange Zone, along with several presentations on modern consumption trends, the environmental impact of the textile industry and fashion, and the dangers of microplastics in everyday life. Various workshops were conducted, including Living Without Plastic, Toy and Christmas Wreath Making, Knitting Shopping Bags from Old Sweaters, Sewing Pouches from Curtains, Making Brooches from Denim Fabric, Painting on Shopping Bags, Belarusian Dances and Games, and Aroma Diagnostics. Additionally, participants engaged in Food Safety Consultations, and a Quiz on Fast and Slow Fashion provided an interactive learning experience.
The festival was actively promoted on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Telegram through posts and stories from organizers and partner groups. The event was conducted in Polish, Ukrainian, Belarusian, and English.
Attendees were encouraged to complete a survey on modern consumption trends and environmental safety. The survey, available in Belarusian, Polish, and Ukrainian, was completed by 65 participants.
Two informative roll-ups were presented at the festival. One focused on the pollution of the Baltic Sea and provided recommendations for protecting it, while the other offered information about eco-certification labels. Both roll-ups aimed to educate attendees on crucial environmental issues.
The Festival of Conscious Consumption successfully raised awareness about sustainable living and responsible consumer habits, inspiring participants to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
