Technical details

Music cushion is a store-bought cat-shaped cushion with an integrated pressure sensor, an electronics box and an audio output. When the pressure sensor is activated (with a child sitting on the cushion or resting their head on it), audio starts to play. The current audio is a gentle meditation with self-love positive affirmations, accompanied with nicely designed posters. Audio files can be easily uploaded to a memory stick, which is inserted into the integrated computer located in the electronics box externally to the Music cushion. Audio can be listened to with wired headphones or a wired speaker. Cat-shaped headphones are included.

Goals:

To promote relaxation and stillness to help children calm down or fall asleep.
To foster a sense of control by activating soothing music through stillness.
To provide calming auditory experiences like music, guided meditations, or audio stories for bedtime, naptime, or reducing restlessness.
