Liepaja State Technical School (LSTS)
09 June 2026
Liepāja State Technical School focuses on improving internal cooperation and actively involving students and staff in energy-saving practices. The pilot addresses challenges related to fragmented responsibilities, limited coordination between administrative, technical and educational staff, and inconsistent internal communication on energy-related issues. The school complex consists of two buildings.
Key aspects of the pilot:
- Student awareness and participation: Students will be involved through a social media quiz on energy efficiency, workshops and student-made social media videos on energy efficiency. These activities aim to strengthen awareness and encourage more active participation in energy-saving practices.
- Communication and knowledge-sharing: A conference titled “Energy efficiency tricks in public buildings” was organised in April 2026 for all target groups – technical workers, administrative staff, students and teachers. In addition, regular newsletters on energy efficiency, including practical tips and tricks, will be sent to all LSTS students and staff.
- Practical engagement activities: A competition, named “Student Energy Challenge” will be organised. Stickers will also be placed on light switches and power outlets in both LSTS buildings to provide simple reminders for energy-conscious behaviour.
The pilot is conducted by Flip-EC project partner Liepāja State Technical School.
