Administration building on Dārza street

Smiltene Municipality’s administration building at Dārza Street 3 has launched a new initiative aimed at reducing energy consumption by focusing on employee habit changes and internal management. The project involves 35 employees across seven departments. The building was constructed in 1895 and has a total area of 796.4 m².

Key aspects of the pilot:

• Energy efficiency team (E-Team): One to two energy managers have been appointed from each department to form a central E-Team. This team meets every two weeks to plan activities and review progress.
• Inter-departmental competition: To boost motivation, various campaigns are organized, such as “Warm Sweater Days” and “Switch off the Lights”. Departments compete for valuable prizes, including experience-sharing trips and joint team-building events.

The pilot is conducted by Flip-EC project partner Smiltene Municipality.
