UBC TALKS | From risk to resilience: Who is overlooked in climate adaptation?

Project: ClimaResponse
Virtual event
Welcome to the UBC TALKS webinar "From risk to resilience: Who is overlooked in climate adaptation?"

Description

Cities need to increase their climate resilience with adaptation measures that serve the whole society – but how to make sure that no one is overlooked in the process? And how to ensure inclusive approach especially if a city has limited resources? At the webinar on 26 May 2026, we discuss how to enable local communities and especially vulnerable groups to act in case of a crisis.

You will hear about different methods to increasing citizen awareness and understanding of climate risks and actions, and learn how to enable citizens to take active part in the planning.

The programme will include inspiring examples of various participatory methods tested by the cities of Skuodas (Lithuania), Lääne-Harju (Estonia) and Ustka (Poland). The piloting activities in these cities are part of the ClimaResponse project.
