Description
We, the Interreg BSR project Arts on Prescription in the Baltic Sea Region, in cooperation with our project partners vhs Bremen, the Ministry for Health, Women, and Consumer Protection, and the Ministry for Culture of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, invite practitioners and decision-makers from the culture and health sectors to explore the topic of Arts & Health from a cultural perspective!
During the public seminar, held from 1–6 PM on 27 November and open to everyone after registration, you will be introduced in sessions 1 and 2 to the value of arts & health initiatives within a European context. This will include global evidence on the impact of Arts on Prescription (AoP) on mental well-being and discussions with artists, link workers, and researchers about their experiences in the field.
In session 3, you are invited to experience the power of art firsthand! Bremen art and culture facilitators AoP participants will guide you through creative writing, improvisational theater, and/or singing and drawing sessions, giving you a sense of what it's like to participate in an AoP programme.
Parallel group discussions in session 4 will provide additional case studies of arts and culture interventions for health, while addressing key aspects and offering guidance on how arts and culture professionals, along with decision-makers, can expand their involvement in health promotion programmes.
Session 5, a plenary session, will conclude the public seminar by sharing the results of the group discussions on how to strengthen the cultural sector’s commitment to health promotion. It will also explore potential measures to make it even more attractive for the cultural sector to get involved.
In the evening, we invite all participants to a get-together to mingle over finger food and drinks!
Please find here the full agenda for the event!
The public event is organised as an in-person meeting. Registration is open until 31 October 2024.
