“CeForestry” was presented on public discussion in Latvia

Description

On 27th July “CeForestry” was presented on public discussion (https://www.daugavasmuzejs.lv/lv/aktualitates) on environmental problems in Latvia. Event was dedicated to River Daugava, its problems, including waste management aspects and problems of circular economy as a factor driving economical development. River Daugava is a major river of Latvia and of major environmental economical and cultural significance. In the event participated general public, but also representatives of local communities, municipality, locally based industries as well as deputy of Latvian parliament (Saeima) Maris Sprindzuks. “CeForestry” poster was exhibited and prof. Maris Klavins presented project concept, informed about significance of circular bioeconomy in forestry sector and especially for local producers, new applications and innovation in forestry side stream use. Discussions with event participants provided opportunity to disseminate project results, but at the same time revealed problems in society perception of biomass side stream usage and already now existing topicality of this approach and “CeForesty” concepts and expected results.
