Description

As part of the ‘Local Action Day’ initiative, Keep Sweden Tidy, the Swedish Consumers’ Association, and Västerås Municipality are teaming up on 27 June to inspire festivalgoers at the Västerås Cityfestival. Through hands-on litter-picking and awareness activities, the event will spotlight the importance of reducing plastic consumption. A variety of family-friendly activities will be available throughout the day, including litter-picking quests, waste-sorting games focused on different types of litter and plastic, face painting, and a meet-and-greet with a local music artist. The Swedish Consumers Association will also host an interactive exhibition stand where visitors can learn more about single-use plastics and packaging. Festivalgoers will be invited to "vote" with plastic items, placing them on a visual scale from necessary to unnecessary, sparking reflection and dialogue about plastic use. Visitors will also have the opportunity to join the “Plastkampen” behavioural change program on the spot via a QR code.
