Description
The project lead, Kiel University (CAU), hosted a meeting with local Kiel partners to launch their collaboration on making household consumption more circular and sustainable. Led by Prof. Dr. Stefan Hoffmann, the event brought together teams from the City of Kiel, Zero-Waste Kiel, ResteRitter, stadt.mission.mensch, Foodsharing Kiel, the Hansastraße 48 Communication Center, and the Kiel-Gaarden Project Company to get to know each other, clarify roles, and work out the next steps.
The focus was on how households, city services, and local organizations can work together to reduce waste and rethink everyday consumption. Circ@Home aims to build a support network that makes sustainable living more practical. Project manager Marie Tebel called the project a great chance to bring the idea of a circular economy into real life. The Kiel meeting was a key starting point for developing and testing new ideas throughout the project.
The project offers valuable insights into how sustainable habits form within social settings. ”We see enormous potential, both scientifically and practically, in linking households, municipal structures, and local services,” concludes Prof. Dr. Stefan Hoffmann.
