17th Annual Baltic Sea Region Forum

Project: CiNURGi
Virtual Meeting & Physical Meeting
Baltic Sea Region Forum 2025, themed "Safe and Secure Baltic Sea

Description

The Baltic Sea Region Forum 2025, themed "Safe and Secure Baltic Sea," will feature a third panel dedicated to nutrient recycling. Addressing nutrient recycling is essential for safeguarding the Baltic Sea and its surrounding region, as it directly influences resource efficiency, food security, climate change adaptation, supply chain continuity, and the reduction of fossil fuel dependency.
The event is held in Turku, but it is also streamed live. The registration for types of participation can be done in the event page: Baltic Sea Region Forum 2025

The speakers of the Nutrient recycling panel represent research, governance, business and international cooperation. Erik Sindhöj is representing CiNURGi project – and naturally his own expertise – in the panel. The other names of the panel are Elsi Kauppinen and Eija Hagelberg, representing BSR level and national level governance and Teija Paavola representing business. International cooperation (i.e. ESPP network, Baltic Stewardship Initiative and project Lex4Bio) is represented by Ludwig Hermann, Mats Johansson and Kari Ylivainio.

All likely to be familiar names for CiNURGi partnership, but if you want to know more, the speaker presentations and more about the programme can be found in the event pages: Baltic Sea Region Forum 2025. The other panels are: 1. Security of Maritime Transport in the Baltic Sea and 2. Sustainable Maritime Industry.
