It plays an essential role in advancing the strategy’s goals by bringing together stakeholders from across the region to collaborate on addressing common challenges and supporting the implementation of the EUSBSR’s objectives.
The EUSBSR Annual Forum 2025 is taking place during a period of significant change in the Baltic Sea Region, its vicinity and beyond. The forum will address the crucial question: What actions are needed to build stability and a prosperous future for us all and the generations to come, across geopolitical, economic, social and environmental dimensions?
There is no shortage of topics within the EUSBSR to put “Securing the Future” into the Baltic Sea Region context. Viewed through the lens of the “Securing the Future”, the forum will address the EUSBSR’s current priorities: “Save the Sea”, “Connect the Region” and “Increase Prosperity”. It will notably focus on future-proofing societies, enhancing our resilience to adversity and unpredictability, and protecting the environment and natural resources.
CiNURGi will be featured during session IX: New Circular Economy Solutions.
With a vision of a Baltic Sea in good environmental health, capable of supporting diverse activities, the “Save the Sea” priority focuses on reducing pollution, protecting biodiversity, and promoting a circular economy. “Connect the Region” tackles energy security, resilient infrastructure, Meanwhile, “Increase Prosperity” emphasises workforce development, education, green innovation to ensure economic and social resilience in an unpredictable future and the integration of culture and tourism, strengthening regional ties and the Baltic identity.
Policy makers, experts, and practitioners from ministries, agencies, local governments, academia, NGOs, and the EU will gather in Sopot, Poland, for the Annual Forum of the EU’s oldest macro-regional strategy, launched in 2009. With a dynamic programme of high-level plenaries, panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities, the forum will encourage collaboration on strategies in the Baltic Sea Region to tackle the challenges of stability and sustainability in changing times.
