EUSBSR Annual Forum 2025 - New Circular Economy Solutions
Project: Circular Ports
Physical Meeting
29. - 30. September 2025
00:00 - 23:59 (CET)
As part of Baltic Sea Day, Centrum Balticum Foundation is organising the session Harbours of Change: Circular Economy in Baltic Sea Ports at the Europe Forum in Turku on 27 August 2026. The programme brings together experts from across the Baltic Sea Region for keynote presentations and a panel discussion on the future of circular economy in ports.
Baltic Sea ports are key hubs for trade and logistics, but they also have an important role to play in building a more sustainable future. The session explores how ports are turning circular economy ambitions into practical action.
The programme brings together perspectives from the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region Policy Area Ship (PA Ship), the Port of Turku and the Interreg Baltic Sea Region project Circular Ports. Through practical pilot examples from across the Baltic Sea Region, Circular Ports explores opportunities for reducing waste, reusing materials and developing circular business models in port environments.
As the session takes place on Baltic Sea Day, the concluding panel discussion will focus on how these initiatives can contribute to a healthier Baltic Sea and what more is needed to accelerate the transition towards more circular ports.
The event is free of charge and open to everyone. The session can be attended at the Europe Forum in Turku or followed online via the event livestream.
