Description
During the event, participants will have an opportunity to delve into the world of renewable energy infrastructure development as we guide them through interactive simulations and hands-on experiences.
In this workshop, we'll highlight the pivotal role of energy storage technologies in accelerating local energy transitions. We'll showcase an interactive tool – the Energy Equilibrium Platform – designed to assist local public authorities in decision-making processes concerning the development of robust renewable energy infrastructure within the region, with a focus on strategically deploying energy storage technologies.
Participants will have the opportunity to simulate and evaluate various scenarios of future energy systems at the national, regional, community, and company levels using real-world examples.
This workshop will highlight how important energy storage technologies are in realizing the full potential of renewable energy sources (RES). The project acknowledges the critical need for robust energy storage infrastructure to address the challenge of variability and non-controllability in RES generation, such as daily fluctuations in solar radiation intensity and wind speed. Regional climate neutrality is hindered by the uncertainties faced by local public authorities entrusted with creating an enabling policy environment for RES infrastructure. These uncertainties arise from a lack of knowledge and capacity on-site.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about different energy storage solutions to expand and maximise local renewable energy potential;
- Engage in discussions with energy experts and stakeholders in the energy sector;
- Try out the interactive energy simulation tool;
- Simulate different development scenarios for the energy sector and analyse different pathways to low-carbon energy systems.
This workshop is implemented in the scope of the Interreg BSR project Energy Equilibrium, #C027
This event is part of the European Sustainable Energy Week. More details about the event here.
