Description

How can chemicals be better integrated into the circular economy, climate action, waste management and product policy?

The Chemicals Projects Platform Event in Riga will bring together around 100 experts, project representatives, policymakers and practitioners from across Europe to exchange knowledge and identify practical pathways towards a toxic-free and circular economy. ChemClimCircle-2 will participate in and contribute to the organisation of the event, bringing its perspective on integrating chemicals, climate and circularity into public procurement.

The event will connect LIFE, Horizon and Interreg projects and explore chemicals as a cross-cutting environmental challenge. Discussions will focus on links between chemicals and circular economy, climate action, waste, water, procurement and product policy; upstream–downstream value chain thinking; better use of existing policy instruments such as public procurement, environmental management systems, product requirements and ecolabelling; and preventing hazardous substances at source to reduce environmental emissions and human exposure.

Through project pitches, interactive workshops and an exhibition of project results, participants will share experiences, establish new connections and explore opportunities for cooperation across sectors and EU funding programmes.

The event is organised by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV) and the LIFE project FitforREACH-2, with ChemClimCircle-2 contributing as a co-organiser.

Further information and registration details will follow soon.
