The aim of the largest forum in the sector is to promote the acquisition of new knowledge, exchange of experience and further education of museum professionals.
This year's event is dedicated to the socio-economic impact of museums, where together with experts from Finland and Estonia, the forum seeks to find answers for: how can museums measure their impact in society and how can they increase this impact? What are the latest research and approaches, museums can use in their daily work and in their work with society to grow and develop as institutions?
The Forum will include two panel discussions - "Socio-economic Impact of Museums. Museum for society - society for museum" and "Quo vadis, Latvian museum sector? Today's challenges for tomorrow's museum". 11 professionals from different fields have submitted their papers and they cover a wide range of topics.
The programme is available here.
Participation in the Museums Forum is free of charge, pre-registration is required here.
The event will be held in person and there will be no live streaming. Working languages - Latvian, English (translation will be provided).
