Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region

Physical Meeting

Description

On 4–5 October this year, Riga will be organising the 14th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR).

The Forum’s motto is “Safe and Sustainable Baltic Sea Region for Future Generations”.

The organizers will steer the Forum toward these four main goals:

  • exchange of best practices of cooperation,
  • stronger integration within the Baltic Sea Region and beyond,
  •  forming synergies between various priority areas, and
  • creating links between the Strategy and the general public.

The Managing Authority/Joint Secretariat of Interreg Baltic Sea Region will organise a session at the Forum: “Interreg funding for the macro-region”. Project beneficiaries, policy area coordinators, and EU and regional stakeholders will discuss how Interreg Baltic Sea Region projects help implement the EUSBSR Action Plan, sharing the past achievements, new solutions, and looking into opportunities for future cooperation.

The Forum will offer networking opportunities on a vast scale. This year the Networking Village will be based in the historical building of an Old Riga artisans’ guild with its lavish interior of unique artistic value.

The event is organised jointly by the Riga Council, Union of the Baltic Cities and VASAB, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia and the Baltic Sea Strategy Point.
