A study festival for the new students

University of Latvia organizes a study festival for the new students, their supporters and employees to introduce them to the study possibilities, different programmes offered and ongoing research opportunities that involve Bachelors and Masters students. The study festival “LU Universs 25” took place on the 21st and 22nd of February 2025 in The House of Science (Jelgavas street 3).

Students attending the event were also invited to find out more about the ongoing research in the Faculty of Science and Technologies, Department of Environmental science. CEforestry project team shared the project idea and possibilities this project offers to both the scientific and general society as well as the opportunities such project offers for students in our faculty. Students were introduced to the possibility to work on their Bachelors or Masters thesis as well as being part of a group of researchers involved in the circularity approaches investigated in the CEforestry. Interested attendees were introduced to the idea of forestry logging residue use for creation of new products and the cascading principles of biomass utilisation.
