Future Cities kicks off in Hamburg

On 25 June, the Future Cities partners came together in Hamburg to kick off the journey for the next 2.5 years. Bringing together partners from seven countries, the meeting was a first opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and set the course for the work ahead.

A key part of the day was dedicated to the solutions, methods and results developed in the different projects. The partners shared what has worked, what they have learned and what they want to carry forward. Future Cities will bring these experiences together, make successful approaches more visible and help ensure that valuable project results continue to have an impact beyond the lifetime of individual projects.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to take a closer look at the different work packages and activities planned for the coming 2.5 years. This sparked good discussions about how experiences can be connected and how partners can work together across countries and projects.

It was an intensive day with a packed agenda – but luckily, Hamburg showed its sunny side, allowing for a lunch break with pasta and salad in the park before getting back to work.

After a productive first day together, the Future Cities partnership is now ready to turn these ideas, experiences and solutions into a lively platform for the years ahead.
