Energy Circle Partners Meeting in Tartu: From Testing to Implementation

The meeting came at an important stage of the project. With the Energy Circle solutions now being tested across partner regions, the focus is gradually moving from testing and learning to implementation, monitoring and sharing the results.
The meeting began with an overview of the project’s progress and the deliverables completed so far. Partners then looked closely at the testing of Solution 1– Methodology for Energy Circle Builders, where consortium presented and discussed the results of the pre-testing and testing carried out in August, including insights from the manual assessment.
The consortium then turned its attention to Solution 2 – the Energy Circle Methodology Roadmap, where was discussed the testing process, progress so far and the next steps. The meeting also provided an opportunity to review the report on testing Solution 2 and discuss how roadmap data is being collected across the different partner regions.
The afternoon offered an opportunity to see energy and resource management in practice. Partners visited A. Le Coq brewery, one of Estonia’s oldest and best-known producers.The study visit provided valuable insights into how a large company approaches energy and resource use. It also gave partners an opportunity to exchange ideas and reflect on how practical experiences can support the work of the Energy Circle Interreg BSR project.
The day ended with a joint dinner at Püssirohukelder, giving partners a chance to enjoy traditional Estonian food and continue the conversations in a more informal setting.
On the second day, partners reviewed the latest progress on the Energy Circle training platform and online assessment tool, including the planned development timelines.
The consortium then discussed the next phase of the project, with a focus on the implementation of the roadmaps, monitoring and evaluating how effectively the solutions work, and sharing and embedding the project’s results beyond the partnership.
The meeting also included updates on reporting, administration and communication, helping partners prepare for the upcoming activities and ensure that the project continues to move forward smoothly.
The meeting concluded with a summary of the main conclusions, key decisions and next steps.
