CREWS Connects with European Partners at the EU Macro-regional and Sea Basin Strategies Days 2026
11 August 2026
As part of the event, CREWS hosted a booth in the Networking Village, which provided an opportunity to showcase the project’s work on strengthening volunteer engagement and supporting communities in preparing for and responding to disasters. The booth offered participants an opportunity to learn more about CREWS, exchange experiences and explore potential connections with initiatives working on resilience, civil protection and community preparedness across Europe.
The event, co-organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO) and Directorate-General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG MARE), focused on the role of macro-regional and sea basin cooperation in responding to Europe’s evolving challenges. Discussions highlighted priorities including security, resilience, competitiveness and climate pressures, as well as the future of EU cooperation and funding beyond 2027.
