SmartAging at Seniorikahvit
16 June 2026
Last week, the SmartAging project visited the Seniorikahvit event at Puistolan palvelutalo in Helsinki to field-test project prototypes and introduce the Social Oasis concept.
The session was organized in collaboration with the City of Helsinki and brought together active older adults, care professionals, and researchers from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK).
During the event, participants explored and tested several SmartAging solutions, including:
- MoMo Flashcards, designed to encourage emotional expression, social interaction, and physical activity
• SmartNFC solutions, which support accessible and intuitive communication and information access
• Social Oasis, a concept that promotes meaningful social participation, connection, and active ageing among older adults
The feedback was highly encouraging. Participants appreciated that the solutions were designed with older adults’ needs and wellbeing in mind, while professionals recognized their potential to support social engagement and everyday activities in care settings.
A special thank you to everyone who joined the session and shared their valuable insights. Their feedback will help shape the continued development of SmartAging solutions and support our mission of creating more connected, inclusive, and age-friendly communities.
