Technical details

More than 130 participants joined us live for the webinar “Regenerative Tourism in the Baltic Sea Region: Turning Vision into Action”, organised by EUSBSR Policy Area Tourism and the Regenerative Tourism Platform RegenT project.

Thank you to everyone who joined us from across Europe – destinations, tourism organisations, public authorities, researchers, SMEs and EU-funded projects. The strong turnout confirms that regenerativetourism is rapidly moving from an emerging concept to a growing movement.

Our inspiring speakers provided complementary perspectives on Regenerative Tourism:

  • Magda Leszczyna-Rzucidło EUSBSR Policy Coordinator for Tourism opened the forum
  • Linda Vismer perfectly setting the scene for the changemakers discussion
  • James Simpson elaborating on the steps and engagement opportunities of the RegenT – Integrating Regenerative Practices in Nature and Cultural Tourism project from Interreg Baltic Sea Region
  • Martina Bradacova presented the tools from Regenera4MED project Interreg Euro-MED Programme
✨ Henna Konu presenting the results from REGGAE – Regenerative Nature Tourism project from Interreg Aurora🔑 Four key messages emerged from the discussions:
🌿 Regeneration is more than sustainability, it is not only about reducing negative impacts but actively restoring and strengthening communities, cultures and ecosystems.
🤝 No one can do it alone, successful regenerative tourism depends on collaboration, trust-building and co-creation between residents, businesses, visitors, public authorities and civil society.
🏡 Place matters, regenerative tourism starts with understanding the unique identity, needs and potential of a place, and ensuring that local communities are among the main beneficiaries.
🚀 From ideas to implementation, across Europe, projects are already developing practical tools, training programmes, knowledge hubs, entrepreneurial networks and regenerative tourism products that can inspire destinations to take action.

🎬 The webinar was recorded, and the recording is already available on YouTube:

The presentations, poll results and additional resources shared by participants will be published here: https://eusbsr.eu/news/ and sent via email to all registered participants soon.

Thank you for being part of this growing community. Together, we are building a tourism industry that gives back more than it takes.
