Testing sessions at SAMK, Finland
18 March 2026
As part of the SmartAging Project, we recently conducted three controlled testing sessions (24.2, 4.3, and 18.3) at the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) campus, in both a home-like environment and a dedicated relaxation space. Together with professionals and students from SAMK, we explored and tested a range of exciting prototypes designed to support older adults’ well-being:
- Emoji Flashcards
- Emoji Digital Game App
- Â VR Nature Trail
- Indoor Air Quality Monitor
- Â Magic Box
- Â NFC-tag Task Automations
The goal? To gather honest feedback, fresh ideas, and practical suggestions for improvement.
The participants shared valuable insights that will help us further develop these solutions making them more meaningful in promoting relaxation, social connection, and overall well-being for older people. We’re excited for the next step: bringing these prototypes into the hands of older adults themselves and learning directly from their experiences.
