Partnership Conference Latvia 22 - 23 April 2026
30 April 2026
On 22–23 April, the nine project partners of REDIRECT “Regenerative Tourism in Baltic Sea Region for Resilient Communities towards a Circular Economy” met in Sigulda, Latvia, hosted by Sigulda Municipality.
Partners from Poland, Germany, Latvia, Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, and Denmark came together for two days of intensive collaboration focused on the next phase of the project: piloting and testing the tools developed under the Regenerative Tourism Toolkit.
Across discussions, workshops, and site visits, the partnership moved from content development into implementation – working closely on how to ensure that the toolkit becomes both practical and relevant for different users and governance levels, and with the ambition that it can be scaled and applied more broadly across regions in the Baltic Sea area over time.
The strong engagement across all partners reflects a shared commitment to co-create solutions that can support a more regenerative approach to tourism.
The meeting also included joint reflections on piloting activities, communication materials, and upcoming interregional workshops, as well as valuable exchanges on examples of regenerative tourism practices from across the partner regions.
The site visit to the Gauja Valley area and Sigulda Castle Quarter also provided a valuable introduction to the local heritage, landscape, and cultural history of the area.
A special thank you to our hosts in Sigulda Municipality for the excellent facilitation and inspiring programme.
We look forward to continuing the collaboration as we move into testing, refining, and scaling the toolkit together across regions.
