ArtWell in Poland – experiences of Arts on Prescription for inclusive learning environments
23 April 2026
During the ArtWell conference in Poland, Lotten Svensson (representing Axevalla Folk High School – our project partner from Sweden) participated in workshops and presentations focused on Arts on Prescription (AoP) and engaged with actors from Iceland, Latvia, Ukraine, Sunderby Folk High School, Region Norrbotten and NDPHS in Sweden. She contributed with her experiences from our SchoolChanger work on developing inclusive and creative learning environments.
She shared how we, within SchoolChanger project, work with participant-centred learning environments, using practical painting workshops and creative activities as a method. These approaches give participants the opportunity to express themselves, reflect and strengthen both self-confidence and a sense of participation. It is not only about artistic creation, but about creating meaningful contexts where learning takes place through interaction with others.
A key theme during the conference was how AoP can contribute to building bridges between education, health and society. This strongly connects to the work within the Interreg project SchoolChanger, where we develop approaches that support individuals in participating, learning and growing in different life situations.
The experiences from ArtWell in Poland confirm the importance of continuing to develop creative and inclusive learning environments, where art, reflection and participation become an integrated part of learning. The conference also strengthened international collaboration within the Interreg SchoolChanger network and opened up new opportunities for continued exchange and joint development across countries.
