The EUSBSR Annual Forum 2025, held on 29–30 October alongside the BSSSC Day of Cities and Regions, brought together stakeholders from across the Baltic Sea Region to address a pressing question: how to secure a stable and prosperous future amid growing geopolitical, economic, social, and environmental uncertainty.
Under the theme “Securing the Future: Stronger Together,” the forum highlighted the need to strengthen resilience and future-proof societies. Discussions centred on protecting natural resources, adapting to global challenges, and reinforcing cooperation across borders.
Key priorities of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region were at the core of the programme. The “Save the Sea” agenda focused on reducing pollution, safeguarding biodiversity, and advancing a circular economy. “Connect the Region” addressed energy security and the development of resilient infrastructure, while “Increase Prosperity” emphasised workforce skills, education, green innovation, and the role of culture and tourism in strengthening regional identity.
Overall, the forum underscored the importance of collaboration in navigating uncertainty and building long-term stability and sustainability across the Baltic Sea Region.
