Professor Małgorzata Jędryczka presents PestSpace at the 15th National Scientific Conference in Zakopane

27 March 2026
During the XVth National Scientific Conference “Science for Plant Breeding and Seed Science” (16–19 February 2026, Zakopane, Poland), Professor Małgorzata Jędryczka (Institute of Plant Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences) presented PestSpace, showcasing its main features and applications in plant research and breeding. She also participated as an expert in a panel discussion, sharing her insights and experience with the project.
Technical details

The conference is one of the most important annual events in Poland for plant breeding and seed science, providing a platform for scientists, breeders, and industry specialists to exchange knowledge, present innovations, and strengthen collaboration between research and practice.

The event was an excellent opportunity to promote PestSpace and connect with specialists in plant breeding and seed science.

PestSpace in the Interreg Baltic Sea Region framework

The presentation opened with an introduction to the project within the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme, highlighting its mission to improve plant protection by developing a regional shared database on agrophages and enhancing cross-border collaboration.

International partnership behind PestSpace

A key element of the presentation was the strong international consortium implementing the project. PestSpace brings together universities, research institutes, governmental institutions, industry partners, and advisory organisations from across the Baltic Sea Region.

The slide also introduced the Project Manager, Kadri Põldmaa, Ph.D. whose leadership and coordination ensure effective cooperation among partners from Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.

The conference created an opportunity to further strengthen these international connections and promote the project among the international scientific community.
