Operations of Strategic Importance in Interreg Baltic Sea Region

Transnational cooperation at its best

Project platforms as OSIs

Project platforms are the Operations of Strategic Importance (OSIs) as they make a significant contribution to implementing the objectives of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme. Project platforms are the Programme’s main capitalisation instrument, strengthening cooperation across borders and beyond individual projects, boosting knowledge transfer and creating long-term impact.

  • > 8 Operations of Strategic Importance
  • > € 7.6 million of Interreg funds allocated

Project platforms in a nutshell

Each project platform builds on projects from Interreg Baltic Sea Region and other EU and national programmes. Together, the eight project platforms create unique environments to consolidate project results from as many as 107 projects from 26 EU and national programmes. This is what capitalisation is about!

Project platforms synthesise already existing projects results and translate them into action: whether in policy development or in the practical use of outcomes. Equally important is knowledge transfer and laying the ground for future initiatives, making our region more resilient, greener and more open to innovation.

A project platform is more than just another project. Through a wise and efficient use of Interreg funds, it is a springboard for long-term impacts.
