PestSpace Nanopore Barcoding Workshop at the University of Warsaw
22 December 2025
The workshop was led by researchers from the University of Warsaw. The laboratory module was conducted by Marta Tischer, Ph.D. and Maksymilian Nowak, who guided participants through the practical steps of preparing and processing samples using nanopore devices.
The bioinformatics module, focused on data processing and analysis, was led by Mikołaj Dziurzyński, Ph.D., also from the University of Warsaw.
During the two-day workshop, participants processed and analysed 48 faba bean samples, collected during the project’s summer fieldwork campaign. The resulting data provide valuable input for ongoing PestSpace research aimed at developing modern tools for monitoring plant diseases and pests.
The workshop atmosphere was highly collaborative and engaging. Participants had many opportunities to exchange insights, discuss methodological challenges, and work together on analytical tasks.
