Technical details

Hosted by the City of Warsaw, the CREWS project met in the Polish capital on 19–20 November 2025 for a study visit to Poland focused on cooperation during disasters and crisis situations.

After earlier visits to Estonia and Finland, partners are now exploring Polish practices, with a focus on how NGOs and volunteer initiatives support public authorities in emergencies.

The RiA-ENGAGE project — involving the Swedish Civil Defence League, Estonian Rescue Association, Vovchok Folk High School (Ukraine) and the CBSS — joined the visit to contribute additional insights on authority–volunteer cooperation.

CREWS and RiA-ENGAGE are co-funded respectively by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme and the Swedish Institute.
