SmartAging - Podcast #11: Need Analysis: Mapping Priorities Across the Baltic Sea Region

In our eleventh episode, we share insights from over 500 participants across Finland, Poland, Germany, and Sweden. Our SmartAging needs analysis sheds light on what matters to seniors across the Baltic Sea region.

Daily life challenges such as mobility, and memory difficulties, along with safety risks in bathrooms and kitchens, emerged as critical areas for improvement. Beyond the physical, emotional well-being, privacy, autonomy, and social interaction were strongly linked to quality of life.

The study also highlights the importance of better design in everyday spaces, prioritizing adaptable, easy-to-clean solutions, and the role of smart home systems in supporting independence.
