Building a Greener Future: LIC’s Contribution to Energy Circle and Lithuania’s Energy Transition

The Lithuanian Innovation Centre (LIC) has been a trusted partner for businesses, municipalities, and research institutions in Lithuania for more than two decades. Our mission is to promote innovation, sustainable growth, and technological transformation across different sectors of the economy. With strong expertise in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable investment, LIC has become an active driver of Lithuania’s transition towards a greener future.

Within the Energy Circle project, LIC acts as a national facilitator, ensuring that knowledge, best practices, and tools developed in the project are effectively transferred and adapted to the Lithuanian context. Our work includes analyzing the national and municipal energy landscape, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting the development of strategies that accelerate the integration of renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency measures.

LIC’s role in Energy Circle

In the framework of Energy Circle, LIC is responsible for:

Stakeholder engagement and networking – building bridges between local authorities, businesses, and research institutions to foster cooperation on the energy transition.

Knowledge transfer – adapting and disseminating innovative approaches and methodologies tested in the project to Lithuanian municipalities and companies.

Capacity building – organizing trainings, workshops, and consultations to strengthen the competencies of Lithuanian stakeholders in energy planning and sustainable investment.

Policy support – providing insights and recommendations to align project results with national and EU energy and climate goals.

Through these activities, LIC contributes to creating a strong ecosystem where municipalities, businesses, and citizens can collaborate in the shift towards renewable energy and greater energy independence.

Why Energy Circle matters for Lithuania

Lithuania has set ambitious targets for increasing the share of renewable energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Projects such as Energy Circle play a crucial role in making these goals achievable. By connecting stakeholders across Europe and ensuring a steady exchange of knowledge, the project empowers local actors to take concrete action.
