Workshop: Shaping the Future of Regional Energy – From Renewables to Climate Neutrality

Project: CommitClimate
Physical Meeting

Description

How can municipalities take concrete steps towards climate neutrality while effectively integrating renewable energy solutions? This workshop, organised within the CommitClimate project in collaboration with the Interreg BSR project EnergyEquilibrium, will explore practical approaches to decarbonising regional energy systems — from leveraging the synergy between wind and hydrogen to understanding emerging policy trends across the Baltic Sea region.

Throughout the day, participants will:

  • Gain insights into innovative technologies and the latest developments in emissions and emissions trading.
  • Explore best practice examples from municipalities in Latvia, Sweden, and beyond.
  • Discuss strategies for developing resilient, climate-neutral local energy systems.

A special focus will be given to practical tools and planning methods that support municipalities in designing their energy transition strategies. During the hands-on session, participants will have the opportunity to test innovative planning platforms developed within CommitClimate and EnergyEquilibrium, designed to help local authorities accelerate their path towards renewable energy integration and climate neutrality.
