SmartAging - Needs Analysis Sweden

With the needs analysis phase of the SmartAging Project completed, the various project partners have aggregated the research into actionable, user-centered, and sustainable insights to develop into innovative concepts for assisted living for the elderly population of society.

The results of the needs analysis and data collection across the partner countries highlighted the major differences and similarities across various categories facing elderly people in assisted living in each respective territory.

Design experts Interesting Times Gang in Sweden have conducted in-depth interviews with associated partner Ambea, benchmarking of the most innovative existing solutions in Sweden, as well as deep-research into national rapports from amongst others The National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) in order to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the challenges an older population and the care-facilities that take care of them face.

The data collected for each country was grouped into eight main categories and their associated key factors and compare the results across countries. Interestingly, in Sweden, the highest concern is “Emotional Well-being & Quality of Life”, which will be an important focus area for Interesting Times Gang.
