Technical details

The KidsLikeUs project has been qualified in the “Social Cohesion and Integration” category of the 2025 Innovation in Politics Awards. In this category, the jury selects projects that make a significant contribution to promoting inclusiveness and reducing social inequality.

In the Innovation in Politics Awards, a citizen jury composed of 1,000 jurors from across Europe evaluates projects based on two key criteria: innovation and project impact. Only the 10 projects with the highest scores in each category advance to the finals. Finalists are invited to the Conference and Awards Gala, held annually in the European Capital of Democracy. In 2025, the awards ceremony will be held on September 17th in Vienna. The event will include a conference with discussions on the finalists’ projects and the innovative solutions developed within them, followed by a prestigious gala where the winners will be announced and honored. KidsLikeUs project will be represented by the project manager Beata Fabisiak from the Department of Furniture Design of the Poznan University of Life Sciences (Poland), and Kaire Luuk from the Saue Municipality in Estonia.

The KidsLikeUs project aims, among others, to implement the concept of sensory design to create furniture solutions tailored to the needs of trauma-affected children. The project has developed a set of digital and traditional solutions that enable the creation of mobile and modular arrangements, allowing volunteers, teachers, and caregivers to conduct integration, relaxation, and therapeutic activities with children more easily and comfortably. An example solution is currently being built in the Poznan Dendrological Garden and urban spaces in Estonia.
