01 July 2025
We’re proud to share that the Interreg project TRUST ALUM is featured in the July 2025 issue of Baltic Outlook, the inflight magazine of airBaltic!
Technical details

In a dedicated page spread (page 64), the article highlights how innovative environmental remediation technologies – like aluminum treatment of eutrophic lakes – are being used to restore water quality in the Baltic region. Lake Velnezers in Latvia takes is highlighted as the first site in the Baltic countries to undergo such ALUM treatment, supported by transnational cooperation through Interreg BSR programme.

The article emphasizes the importance of cross-border collaboration, public engagement, and research in tackling one of the most persistent water management challenges – historical phosphorus pollution. It’s a great example of how international partnerships and experience sharing can turn research into impactful practice.
