KidsLikeUs Successful Tech Pilot Event in Riga

On May 9, the KidsLikeUs Interreg BSR project reached a new milestone by conducting a pilot event at the Children and Youth Mental Health Center within Bērnu klīniskā universitātes slimnīca (Children’s Clinical University Hospital) in Riga, Latvia. The KidsLikeUs team from Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK), Finland, brought along innovative tech prototypes to test with children and staff.

Participants at the event had the chance to explore and enjoy six unique prototypes designed to support mental health and well-being. These included the calming Breathing Lights created by TSENTER, a Virtual Relaxation experience, Emoji Flashcards, an interactive Digital Emoji Game, a hands-on Sensory Board, and a comforting Music Cushion. Each activity encouraged playful engagement, self-expression, and relaxation among the children.

The KidsLikeUs team extends heartfelt thanks to Indra Veismane and her dedicated teams for their warm hospitality and enthusiastic participation. The valuable feedback from both children and staff is vital for further development and improvement of these tools, ensuring they meet the real needs of young users.
