MaDaMe project showcased innovative digital services at Åland Maritime Day
16 June 2025
The MaDaMe project participated in the Åland Maritime Day on May 22nd. The event brought together 800 registered participants including the maritime industry, suppliers, seafarers, policymakers and maritime schools. At our stand, the MaDaMe project and its objectives were presented, along with a demonstration of the digital VTS Traffic Clearance Service developed and piloted within the project.
Fintraffic’s MaDaMe test coordinator arrived at the fair directly from the Finnlines vessel Finnsirius, where new digital services developed in the MaDaMe project had just undergone three weeks of testing. Visitors to our stand were able to observe how, in the future, a vessel and the VTS center can communicate digitally directly via the Electronic Chart Display. They also had the opportunity to see visualizations of the new digital Navigational warning and Aids to Navigation services. The participants were very enthusiastic about the new digital fairway services developed in the MaDaMe project, and we were thrilled with the active engagement at our stand during the day.
We also had the opportunity to promote our mid-term seminar, which will be held on December 3rd, in collaboration with two other projects co-funded by Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme: the Baltic Sea e-Nav and ORMOBASS. Save the date!
