Methanol bunker vessel specifications

The methanol bunker vessel specification specifies the main characteristics of a bunker vessel able to serve alternative fuels (e.g. carrying capacity, main vessel dimensions, safety aspects). It will enable port authorities and large enterprises such as bunkering companies to prepare a construction specification of alternative fuels bunker vessel, which can supply seagoing vessels with such fuels.

The bunker vessel specification and design concept will also be checked and reviewed by the project partnership including the associated organizations comprising of port authorities, energy suppliers and shipping companies. The assessment and adjustments of the specifications by different stakeholders ensure a high level of excellence of the specifications, that meets current quality and technology levels.

This specification can then be used by stakeholders investing in bunker barges (e.g. port authorities, bunker companies, fuel providers) in the Baltic Sea Region and other related stakeholders. However, the testing of the methanol bunkering vessel specification in real life can be done only after the vessel has been constructed, which is not planned to be a part of this project.
