H2Deri@BSP Kick-Off Meeting

Summary of the H2Deri@BSP project Kick-Off meeting, organized by the Port of Hamburg Marketing at Hamburg in March 2025.

The two-day H2 Derivatives at Baltic Sea Ports project Kick-Off meeting, was hosted by the project leader Port of Hamburg Marketing Reg. Assoc, at Hamburg on March 5th and 6th, 2025. The meeting was attended by 30 people, including almost all H2Deri@BSP project partners.

On the first day of the Kick-Off meeting, we refreshed the memories from project approval to signature of grant and partnership agreements. H2Deri project partners presented their activities and work plan for the year 2025, apart from kicking -off the various activities in work packages 1 and 2. The importance of the initial H2-Derivative Market Demand Analysis for Baltic Sea Ports as green energy hubs was discussed in detail. Additionally, planned outputs like the Techno commercial analyses, Port bunker mapping, Methanol tank trailer, Specifications for a Methanol bunker vessel, Port regulatory framework, Port safety handling manual, and Port residential communication stratergy were also reflected upon. The first day concluded with a team building exercise, wherein the partners got to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere by cooking dinner together.

During the second day of the Kick-Off meeting, Ms. Kamila Zalesiak, Finance Officer at the BSRP Secretariat provided all project partners with an overview of the administrative obligations of the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme. Complimenting the Finance Officer, the project financial manager Hamburg Port Consulting made an essential presentation on reporting procedures, rules, obligations, and eligible costs for project partners. It was followed by a comprehensive outlook of project internal and external communications by the lead partner, Port of Hamburg Marketing. The event concluded with the agreement on the formation of the Project Steering Group, Project Advisory Group, half yearly All Partner Meetings and Activity based Working Groups.

Through engaging discussions and strategic collaborative planning, we have laid the foundation for an exciting and successful three years ahead.
