Description
Discover the Power of Art in Health Promotion!
Arts and Health is a growing field at the intersection of art, culture, and health, now supported by numerous scientific studies. Art and culture play a particularly important role in psychosocial health. During the expert conference, the following question will be therefore explored:
What is the relationship between art, culture, and mental health? What role can art and culture play in health promotion and prevention? What are the similarities and differences between art therapy, cultural education, and health promotion?
This event aims to make tangible how art and health can enrich one another, create opportunities for networking, and provide inspiration for forward-looking approaches in this field. To begin, there will be two introductory keynote presentations. Following this, we will engage in exchange with various projects from local practice in Bremen to explore how art and health can be jointly considered and implemented in real-life settings. Afterwards, there will be the opportunity to attend workshops and gain insight into different artistic disciplines. Together, participants can experience and discuss the impact that art can have on health.
The expert conference will take place in person on the ground floor of the Bamberger Haus (Bremer vhs, Faulenstraße 69), and is organised by the Bremen Coordination Office for Health Equity in cooperation with partners from the Interreg BSR project Arts on Prescription in the Baltic Sea Region at the Bremer vhs, as well as the Senator for Health, Women and Consumer Protection.
The event is aimed at professionals from the fields of health, art, culture, social work, education, public health, health insurance providers, and politics, as well as anyone with an interest in the topic.
The conference language is German!
