Technical details

The last year has been extremely busy for TRUST ALUM team members. Project achieved a major milestone with the successful application of the ALUM method at Lake Velnezers, the first of its kind in the Baltic countries. Through engaging events and interactive sessions, the project built trust among residents and stakeholders by showcasing its positive impact on ecosystems. Meanwhile, research provided valuable insights into nutrient dynamics, identifying internal loading and historical pollution as key challenges. Extensive media coverage on Latvian TV and social media amplified public interest in lake restoration. To further support adoption, the project developed educational resources, including technical guidelines, literature reviews, and stakeholder databases, ensuring broader applicability of the ALUM method.
