Technical details

We’re excited to announce that the deliverables, GoA 2.1: Evaluation Report on the Energy Equilibrium pilot platform in BSR municipalities (with the attachment Piloting Feedback Analysis) and GoA 2.2: Energy Equilibrium platform description, are now published on the project’s website.

GoA 2.1. and its attachment encompasses the modeling of the green energy strategies and the use of renewable energy systems in the sectors such as heating, transportation, and city infrastructure. By examining potential energy storage and better alternatives in the use of resources, the results of this report propose ways in which sustainable energy systems may be achieved. The tool created in this project helps municipalities make informed decisions by making simulations with different input data.

By this deliverable, we can conclude that the Energy Equilibrium platform effectively supports municipalities in tackling energy storage challenges. However, a few enhancements could broaden its accessibility and usability:

  1. Translating the platform’s interface and providing additional training and a comprehensive manual, complete with example calculations, would empower a wider range of users, including non-specialists, to understand its applications;
  2. Clarifying social factors, such as the meaning of percentages for Psychological and Social Factors, would improve comprehension;
  3. Streamlining complex or unclear options and fixing the file import function would also enhance the user experience;
  4. Further validation of specific technologies, like water heat storage, is needed to ensure reliable simulation results.

As the project progresses, work on improving the platform and preparing deliverables continues. Currently, The Roadmap for renewable energy transition in BSR municipalities is being actively developed, marking the beginning of the fourth project period “Piloting and Evaluating Solutions.”
