SMEs from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Sweden have started to work on creating new off-season experiences for Light in the Dark. They will meet over the coming six months in online and IRL workshops. The resulting experiences will be piloted in all participating regions.
Our second webinar, “Challenges and Opportunities for Low-Season Tourism in the Baltic Sea Region,” took place on September 10th and was a great success, with over 240 registered participants. During the webinar, Ă…land University of Applied Sciences presented the findings from the challenge inventory, while Klaipeda University shared the results of the visitor analysis. These insights laid the groundwork for the first tourism experience workshop, which we had last week!
In this first of a series of eight workshops, we focused on customer understanding. Participating SMEs were divided into three groups, each assigned one of three experience themes: “Local Lifestyle,” “Nourished by Nature,” and “Active Adventure.”
These themes were developed based on the visitor analysis results. During the workshop, each group created a customer persona for their respective theme, which will guide us in the upcoming experience development process.
Our next workshop is scheduled for October 8th, where the focus will shift to experience design. At that point, we’ll begin planning the new experience products for each theme. Stay tuned for more updates!
