Description
In Jönköping County, the Culture for Health conference has been organised since 2015 and 2024 will be the start of our digital Culture for Health festival.
Culture can be a platform for promoting health by giving people the opportunity to express themselves, create community and creativity, and increase the well-being of the individual. Research shows that art and culture contribute to inclusion, social trust and cohesion, and that they help to bridge social and cultural differences in society. They also offer opportunities for people to make their voices heard, reflect and think critically, which is important for a vibrant democracy.
This years' programme consists of both local and national lecturers and cultural creators, highlighting the role of culture in society, its importance for people's health and well-being, and provide inspiration and new perspectives.
Lectures and cultural elements will be released gradually from 3-24 October and can be viewed/accessed online after registration. The festival includes different tracks such as children and young people, seniors, disabilities, integration, health and medical care, and management and organisation. An overview of the festival programme is available at: https://kulturforhalsa.nu/program/
One of the highlights: 4 October - Paula Bergmann, member of the advisory board of our Interreg BSR project "Arts on Prescription in the Baltic Sea Region" is featured on Swedish Television presenting research results, practical insights and participants' stories of the Culture on Prescription/Culture-Supported Rehabilitation (KUR) programme in Jönköping - an intervention that is offered to people with mild to moderate mental illness and/or long-term, non-specific pain.
