CiNURGi and in particular the Call for Nutrient Recycling Award (https://interreg-baltic.eu/project-posts/cinurgi/come-and-showcase-your-innovative-solutions-or-best-practices-for-nutrient-recycling/) was presented at the Finnish agricultural exhibition ‘Farmari’. The exhibition was held 4.-6.7.2024 in Seinäjoki, Finland. Over the three days, the exhibition attracted a total of 91,000 visitors from all over Finland!

Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) had a stand demonstrating ongoing research projects. CiNURGi was one of them! At the stand there was a fun quiz about organic fertiliser products, where visitors were asked to guess the contents of each jar. Two of the jars contained biochar and pelletised compost fertiliser, while two jars contained something that looked similar but was perhaps a little tastier: coffee beans and liquorice.

Overall, organic fertiliser products seemed very familiar to visitors. Biochar was well known and recognised! Many of the visitors to the stand also said that they were using organic fertiliser products on their own fields.

At the Luke’s nutrient recycling stand, CiNURGi joined forces with other Luke’s projects promoting nutrient and carbon cycling and carbon neutral biogas solutions: DeliSoil, ACE LIFE, and BioKanta.
