SUMPs for BSR goes UBC Joint Planning & Sustainable Cities Commissions Seminar

Building on the momentum from the successful UBC Planning and Sustainable Cities Commission meeting in Turku, the City of Gdansk is organising the next joint Commission meeting taking place on September 9-12, 2024, in Gdańsk, Poland.

Aligned with the principles of a compact city, Gdańsk's development strategy focuses on infill development that brings urban structures closer to city centres. The city is committed to finding innovative solutions and implementing adaptive measures that enhance public spaces, making them greener, more inclusive, and more accessible.

As part of this meeting, SUMPs for BSR project will be highlighted in a keynote speech by Marcin Wołek from the project partner organisation –the University of Gdańsk on September 10th. His presentation, "Developing Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans," will explore strategies for creating efficient, sustainable urban mobility plans that support the smart transformation of urban mobility in the cities with a special focus on active mobility and monitoring the SUMPs.
