Workshop at EuroMAB 2024 "Climate for Change" in Wittenberg, Germany

We are excited to have taken part of Euromab 2024 “Climate for change” in Wittenberg, Germany! The conference brought together 250 participants from 41 countries from Europe and North America.

We want to thank everyone who participated in our workshop on nature-based solutions and biosphere reserves as drivers for change! It was inspiring to see so many committed and passionate participants who generously shared their experiences and knowledge.

During the workshop, we explored:
• The principles and benefits of nature-based solutions
• Multi-Stakeholder Approach
• Real-world examples and case studies
• The role of biosphere reserves

Visits to the beautiful biosphere reserve Elbe River landscape gave an understanding of different tools of nature-based solutions and how biosphere reserves can act as motivators. Additionally, there was time for an inspiring visit to the biosphere area’s visitor center and the region’s two World Heritage sites.

The Euromab conference convenes every two years, providing biosphere reserves with an opportunity to learn from each other, share best practices, and explore new collaborations. This year’s focus was on climate change and biodiversity, with the goal of fostering a climate for change.
