Description
What are the key markets and key selling factors for the coastal areas of the Baltic Sea Region?
On the 10th of September we will present the results of the two extensive surveys that have been conducted by the project Light in the Dark at an online webinar.
Klaipeda University will present the findings and traveler personas of the survey of the potential demands for low-season nature-based travel. The survey was conducted in the spring of 2024 with 5000 respondents in nine key markets, Germany, UK and France and the regional markets, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland and Sweden.
Ã…land University of Applied Sciences will present the findings of a SME challenge inventory which was conducted in the five project countries with almost 300 respondents and semi-structured interviews. The SME challenge inventory presents SMEs own views and ideas on addressing seasonality and profitability in costal, rural areas as well as the challenges they face.
A detailed program will be sent to all participants in August
The webinar will be on MS Teams, the link will be sent later. The webinar is open to everyone interested in sustainable tourism development in coastal and rural areas.
The project Light in the Dark helps small and medium-sized enterprises in the tourism sector create an off-season nature-based offer to attract tourists to rural and coastal areas of the northern Baltic Sea region all year long.
Light in the Dark has project partners in the following areas, Klaipeda region (Lithuania), Kurzeme region (Latvia), the coastal areas and islands of North and West Estonia, (Estonia), East Coast of Finland, Turku and the Archipelago Sea, and Ã…land Islands (Finland), and Stockholm Archipelago (Sweden).
