The agenda for the meeting encompassed various crucial aspects of the project, including internal procedures, long-term operational strategies, the call for applications for the second round of the BSR Cultural Pearls Title, and planning for the upcoming Culture for Resilience Forum in Jakobstad, Finland on 7-8 May 2024.
Participants engaged in productive discussions and working group meetings, focusing on harmonising the consortium’s direction, upcoming deliverables, and the long-term vision beyond the project’s completion.
The BSR Cultural Pearls project, co-funded by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme, aims to transform the Baltic Sea Region into a vibrant hub of culturally-driven social resilience. According to Felix Schartner Giertta, the project coordinator at the Council of the Baltic Sea States, social resilience plays a crucial role in overcoming various threats and adversities, and culture serves as a cornerstone in community-building, especially in the Baltic Sea region.
The project seeks to harness the potential of local cultural and creative assets to strengthen social resilience in municipalities and regions across the Baltic Sea Region. By creating a repository of good practices and inspiring the development of social resilience action plans at the local level, the project aims to empower communities to navigate and thrive amidst challenges.
